Senix ToughSonic® ultrasonic sensors are a reliable and cost-effective solution for indoor and outdoor water monitoring.
From harsh, salty ocean environments to freshwater applications, ToughSonics deliver smart and reliable calculations. Electronics are potted in 316 stainless steel housings for general purpose sensors.
For added durability, ToughSonic chemical sensors are epoxy potted into Kynar®—polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)—housings. All sensors are IP68 rated.
Non-contact sensors take liquid level measurements from above. ToughSonics perform best in open air applications or within “stilling” tubes that focus the ultrasonic technology to avoid obstacles and improve performance.

ToughSonic sensors are used to measure water levels at channels, canals, and gates to control the distribution of irrigation water. Sensors connect to SCADA and telemetry systems to control the flow. Or connect ultrasonics directly to a pump and let the sensor throttle the flow of water based on its level readings.

Flood Monitoring
Senix ToughSonic sensors can measure stream and water levels when mounted on bridges, poles, and other structures to look down on the flow from above.
Take it from the Iowa Flood Center (IFC). In 2009, it was formed to help Iowans understand flood risks and make smart decisions. Since 2010, over 200 ToughSonic 50s have been put to use to calculate flood risks for the Iowa Flood Information System (IFIS).
