ToughSonic® sensors have been chosen, integrated, and installed by Valarm Inc. for the StormSense flood monitoring and forecast system located in Virginia's Hampton Roads region.

ToughSonic sensors are waterproof, housed in stainless-steel, and are capable of enduring and thriving in harsh conditions

They have become the sensor of choice for flood monitoring systems all over the world, including the Iowa Flood Monitoring information system, the Philippine Metro Advanced Traveler Information System, and the Murray Australia irrigation system.

Why ToughSonics for Flood Monitoring Systems?

Every ToughSonic sensor has a built-in microcontroller and digital filters that translate numerous ultrasonic “pings,” taken over several seconds, into one single measurement output that is sent to the monitoring system.

The final measurement provided to the user excludes extraneous objects, such as birds, bugs, or other objects passing through the ultrasonic beam.

ToughSonic's “Tough. Smart. Connected.” sensors work reliably as waves pass, as tides rise or fall, from bridges as high as 60 feet above the water, and in the worst weather conditions imaginable—because that's when people are relying on them the most.
